Billing and Insurance

All full-time students at the University of Richmond are eligible for care at the Student Health Center and are not charged a co-payment by the medical staff. However, some services provided require payment. These include, but may not be limited to:

  • Laboratory services such as blood work and cultures
  • Rapid strep tests
  • Flu tests
  • Nebulizer treatments for respiratory distress
  • Administration of vaccines, allergy shots, and other injectables

The SHC will not bill your insurance company. All charges incurred at the time of visit are billed to the student account. Information relating to the charges that appear on the student account statement is confidential medical information and no explanation of charges will be released to anyone without written permission of the patient. A statement of charges is available on the student's Student Health Web Portal

Student Health Insurance

The University of Richmond sponsors a student health insurance plan to ensure that all students have access to adequate health insurance to protect against the increasing cost of medical care.
