Groups and Programs

CAPS offers periodic groups and workshops on emotional, mental, and psychological health topics.

The following groups are available for students who may be interested:

Mindful Path

The Mindful Path is a program created to help students who are new to mindfulness (or just wanting to improve) develop and cultivate their own mindfulness practice. Mindfulness can help us to let go of worries, increase our self-awareness, and improve concentration and focus. The Mindful Path will teach you about mindfulness, help you to practice and develop this skill, and individualize your mindfulness practice over four weekly sessions and at-home practice.

When? Wednesdays 4:15pm-5:30pm

Where? CAPS

How do I sign up? You must be a registered CAPS client to attend the Mindful Path. After you have registered and attended your screening appointment, please ask the clinician you met with or the front desk staff to schedule you for a screening.

Managing Anxiety Program (MAP)

The MAP is a structured treatment approach, comprised of three weekly in-session modules (with an optional 4th session), in conjunction with an online component, designed to help you gain understanding of anxiety and stress and learnways of coping in order to strengthen your ability to manage it, increase your confidence, and improve your success as a student. This program will teach you about anxiety — what it is and where it may come from — as well as valuable, easy to practice skills that you can incorporate into your daily routine. Learning and practicing skills is often the first step towards improvement and vital to your progress.
